Oh, I can’t be this guy.'”

Collier then went to a record store and bought a CD – as he did in 1995 – so he could listen to it all.

“And I went and I parked on a street and I listened to the whole record. Although Collier has long stated that he is the guy Morissette sings about in “You Ogta Know”, he has not confirmed this. In 2004, she told Howard Stern on her SiriusXM show that she planned to keep the inspiration for the song to herself.

“People talk about who that song is about, and they will continue, and I never confirm or confirm who it is about, and I never will,” she said. “Well, I say never, and I really should say never, because I may very well do it one day.”

He teased that no one was in the studio with him when he wrote it, so nobody really knows.

What we do know is that Coulier remains a fan of the Canadian artist.

“Years later,” Collier said, “we reconnected and that couldn’t be sweeter. And I said, ‘What do you want to say when people ask me about this relationship?’ And he said, ‘You can say whatever you want.’ So she was really sweet about it. She was kind.”

He then shared a touching story about his ex.

“I’ll tell you what kind of person she is,” he said. “When my sister Sharon was dying of cancer, Alanis was living in Toronto. My sister was in Detroit. She actually moved to Detroit with her guitar and was in the hospital with my sister singing songs for my sister and Was singing. It’s the kind of person she is. So I didn’t say anything bad about her. She’s cute.”

Coulier and Morissette met around 1993, when he sang the national anthem at an All-Star hockey game he was playing. At the time, she was a pop star – the future inspiration for Robin Sparkles – in her home country.
