Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are ready to tie the knot!

Months after disclosing their engagement in April 2022, the couple obtained a marriage license over the weekend in Clark County, Nevada, according to court records obtained by PEOPLE.

TMZ and entertainment tonight Report that the two are in fact already married, though representatives for both Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49, did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on the matter.

Lopez spoke to People in February 2022 about how their relationship is different now than it was 18 years ago, saying, “We’re older, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re in our We’re in different places. Life, we have kids now, and we have to be very mindful of those things.”

She shares 14-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony, and Affleck shares three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10.

“It’s a beautiful result that it has happened at this time in our lives in a way where we can really appreciate and celebrate and respect each other,” Lopez continued. “We always did, but we have even more appreciation because we know that life can take you in different directions.”

She continued, “We’ve been in this game in the public eye long enough to know who we are and what really matters and what doesn’t matter. We have kids and we respect each other. We really live our lives lives in a way we can be proud of and our kids can be proud of you. We just work from a place of love and respect for everyone in our lives and that’s very important to us. We know what the truth is [and] We consider it sacred.”

In her On the JLo newsletter in April, Lopez detailed how Affleck proposed to her — while she was taking a shower.

“Did you ever wish that your biggest dream could come true?” He wrote at that time. “Saturday night, when I was at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got down on one knee and proposed. I was completely turned off and just stared into his eyes and smiled. Trying to cry at the same time. My head was spinning around the fact that after 20 years it was happening all over again, I was literally speechless and said, ‘Is it yes?’ I said yes, yes, yes.”

“I was smiling so big and tears rolling down my face, feeling so incredibly happy and whole,” she said. “It wasn’t fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could have ever imagined… Just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other.”

The star — who referred to her green diamond engagement ring, saying, “Green has always been my lucky color and now, of course, it always will be” — concluded, “Two very lucky people. A second chance at true love. Who got it?”

Lopez and Affleck first began dating in July 2002 and became engaged in November before postponing their marriage to September 2003, a few days before the date. They eventually called off their engagement in January 2004.

Affleck told WSJ. magazine How about feeling “lucky” in December that he’s been given a second chance at both his work and personal life.

He said, “I have got a second chance in my career. I have got a second chance as a human being. Life is hard, and we always fail and hopefully learn from those failures.” “The one thing you really need to take advantage of the opportunities provided by that development is a second chance.
