Luke Pell Dishes on Amanda Mertz Proposal, Wedding Plans: See Ring

Pell raised the question for his longtime love during a trip to Italy, the pair shared in a joint post via Instagram on Thursday, July 7.
“When in Rome… was asked to marry.
While the engagement couldn’t have been more romantic — Pell gave his would-be bride an orchestra, flowers and more — that doesn’t mean achieving the memorable moment was so easy sailing.
“The language barrier in Italy was harder than I thought,” Bachelorette season 12 alum tells WeExplaining that his “phone went dead and I was talking to florists and musicians and photographers and I was trying to coordinate everything that week.”
Although all this secret coordination happened while the couple were traveling through Italy—before they reached their final destination in Rome—Pell and Sellers “pulled it off at the last minute.”
The Texas native revealed that he had been planning to propose to Mertz for months as soon as he booked the trip.
“In the back of my mind, I thought this would be a great opportunity and a great place to do it,” he recalls. We, “And so I started putting the pieces together from there.”
As for the specifics about Mertz’s ring, Pell cites just about everything from the band to the diamond—though he chooses to keep the carat size between himself and his partner’s. (“Keep it to the imagination!” he jokes. We,

“She loves him!” he adds.
Both are planning to move to Scottsdale, Arizona, Pell reveals We, Explaining that they would eventually move together as they headed west. “We’re excited to get married and take our place together out there and move on,” he shares.
Despite a brief breakup in 2020, Pell and Mertz — who were set up by mutual friends in Nashville in 2018 — have been going strong ever since. Real estate agents believe that “the same fundamental … consider life and family and relationships.” He notes that their faith also brings them closer to each other.
Whereas Pell and Mertz’s “initial plan” was to “do something simple and maybe have a destination”. [wedding]Visit … Cabo [Mexico] Or something to that effect,” the fact that he has large families, and many friends, changed his mind.
We’re leaning toward doing it on our farm in Texas, noting that it “would be a good place to get married,” the ABC alum tells WebMD. The pair are “shooting for the spring of 23,” Pell notes.
When it comes to kids, Pell and Mertz seem to be already planning their own family.
“I think we want two,” he tells We How many children do they expect to have after marriage? “I know we both want a family and we both have talked about it and agreed on it. We’re excited to start planning a family and get to that point.”
