Aaron Rodgers discusses Packers wide receivers with NFL Network

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers sat down with Stacy Dales and NFL Network’s Steve Mariucci after Saturday’s practice, and the obvious question arose: What does the four-time NFL MVP think of the current group of wide receivers in Green Bay?

“I like the people we’ve met,” Rodgers said. “There’s going to be an equal amount of balls and yards and touchdowns to go around, so now it’s just a matter of who’s going to make those plays in those situations.

The wide receivers Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equinimus St. Brown combined for 241 goals, 158 catches, 2,081 yards and 14 touchdowns last season.

Rodgers is confident in the current receiver group who can make the most of the opportunities available in the passing game.

He spoke specifically about the six wide receivers in his reply to the Dales and Marucci:

About Christian Watson: “Christian not being here may have been tough for him, but I expect him to be back in a couple of weeks.”

On Romeo Dobbs: “Romeo Dobbs has made a really good start to the camp. It’s getting a lot of attention based on some of the plays he makes. Kind of approach, very sensible kid, very polite kid… it It’s surprising how many teams went through that. Whatever the reason, we all feel really good about Romeo and the way he started.”

On Alan Lazard: “Obviously, Alan Lazard is going to be stepping into the No. 1 role and I think it’s going to be a very smooth transition for him. As a primary blocker and a unique person for us Be No. 1 in the progression more often, to have the opportunity to get more throws.

On Randall Cobb: “While Randall Cobb remains healthy, I think he’s still an excellent slot receiver.”

On Sammy Watkins: “Sammy Watkins just came back to us yesterday, but he’s got a lot of experience, he’s on a short deal, he’s got a lot to prove. I think those guys are a little bit more dangerous because they There’s a lot for the guys to play for. Alan Lazard, also on a one-year deal.

On Juwan Winfrey: “There’s a lot of opportunity behind him. Juwan Winfrey has stepped up because he does almost every single training camp, and he’s off to a really good start.”
