The alleged Colin Cowherd prediction that the Minnesota Vikings will win 16 games in the 2022 season has been officially put to bed.
During a recent episode of “The Heard with Colin Cowherd,” a Fox Sports commentator attached an actual number value for the upcoming season of Vikings.
That number was clearly not equal to the 16 games in his opening pick, when he predicted the Vikings would “double their winning total” from the previous season. But surprisingly, it wasn’t that far off from the original pick.
“This is from Jake Ward, via the SKOR North app, ‘Just a quick note, because his name was mentioned a few times,'” SKOR North’s Phil McKay said during an episode of the Purple Daily podcast. “‘Colin Cowherd said on his TODAY show that the Vikings will go 14-3, win the division and should be the number one choice to over bet this season.’ And I got two other notes from people saying he scored 13 or 14 wins for the Vikings.
How cool would it be to see the Vikings win the NFC North Division, a very short finish with one of the best win-loss records in the league.
That’s a high ambition for a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons.
But he clearly has enough talent to make waves, and he will be revived by the head coach of the first year who won the Super Bowl as offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams. Some of the better finishes last season and the Vikings would have been right there in the mix.
Cowherd’s prediction might not have been so crazy.
