X-A’s slugger Olsson responds to ump’s terrifying strike call that originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayria
Former Athletics first baseman Matt Olsen isn’t one to often argue over balls and strikes, but he couldn’t help himself on Sunday afternoon.
In the fifth inning of the Atlanta Braves’ 7–3 loss to the Washington Nationals, Olsen scored a full count against right-hander Steve Sischek. The next pitch, Sischek missed out and Olsson started running to first base. But wait.
It was called Strike Three.
When Olsson returned to the field in the next half-inning, he was seen uttering the words “that was bad”.

Since being traded to the Braves from Oakland in March, Olsson has been batting. 255/.340/.488 with 17 home runs and 60 RBI in 94 games.
The A’s got four prospects in the deal, including catcher Shia Langeliers, who was named MVP of the 2022 MLB All-Star Futures Game on Saturday.
