Highlights, updates, analysis as Julianna Peña looks to defend title vs. Amanda Nunes

A pair of high-profile rematches with the championship at the stakes headline UFC 277 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Saturday. In the main event, Julianna Pea looked to prove her victory over Amanda Nunes at UFC 269 when she lined up her women’s bantamweight title against a woman considered to be the greatest of all time.

Pea stood in the pocket and traded Nunes in the second round of her title-winning attempt on December 11, and told Yahoo Sports that she would be able to do it again and come out successfully. Nunes, however, said that she didn’t have a good training camp for her first fight, but is well prepared this time and plans to show that she should still be considered the goat of women’s MMA.

In the co-main event, Brandon Moreno and Kai Cara-France will meet in a rematch of an electric slugfest at UFC 245, which Moreno won by decision. This time he is fighting for the interim flyweight title.

Cara-France wants to be the third UFC champion from City Kickboxing Gym in New Zealand. He said that he is a very different fighter this time.

But Moreno, who became flyweight champion after his bout with Cara-France, said he was still better than he was before. UFC president Dana White told Yahoo Sports that he believes Moreno has become a big star, but Moreno isn’t so sure.

He said, he is just confident that he will get the belt again. Also on the main card is a bout between all-time KO leaders Derrick Lewis and Sergei Pavlovich, a flyweight match between Alexandre Pantoja and Alex Perez, and an important light heavyweight fight between Anthony Smith and Magomed Ankalev.

Stay tuned to Yahoo Sports for all card news and results.
