The Ohio State football program is still finalizing on the 2023 square and knitting together the fabric of the 2024 square, but it looped the first stitch of the 2025 square on Friday.
Atlanta area product and defensive back Jonte Gilbert announced his commitment to Ohio State on his Twitter account to get things up and running on the recruiting cycle. It’s too early for Gilbert to make any sort of rankings, but Bucky reached the 6-foot, 1-inch, 175-pounder early and should like what he sees.
Gilbert has offers from Arkansas, Buffalo, Florida A&M, and Georgia Tech, and you almost bank on its notoriety and class ranking to rise after news of OSU’s high. You can also bet that as time progresses other programs will try and elbow up to Gilbert, so Ohio State will need to make sure they still have so much to go before they can officially sign on the dotted line. Stay connected on time.
Hopefully, the positive news on the recruitment front may be a ray of sunshine for some OSU fans who are reeling from some high-profile recruitment losses.
