If Rory McIlroy goes on to win the 150th Open Championship at The Old Course in St Andrews, Scotland, and end his eight-year winless drought in the Majors, that was it.
Short, par-4 after making a birdie on the 9th, found a putt bunker on the drive from McIlroy’s 10th tee protecting the green short and left. It settled in the middle of the sand, which allowed him to make a play on the hole.
And he did just that.
He tossed it out, lowered it under the flag and the eyes of the ball were for the hole.
