Texas fans are already biting to see five-star quarterback Arch Manning take a snap at Burnt Orange.
According to Texas quarterback legend Vince Young, the Longhorn loyalist may have to be patient to get on Manning’s field.
Young made an appearance ESPN’s first take on Thursday where he said he heard Manning use a redshirt in his first college season.
“I really feel like Ark has a great opportunity. One thing I keep hearing is he’s going to redshirt. It’s going to help a lot so you understand how the journey with the team is going to happen.” Do it, fans, get varsity experience. So, when you have these kinds of things and you take a year off like I played with the coach [Mack] Brown, I redshirted. And I think that redshirt year helped me understand how to be a quarterback at the University of Texas, and then what you go through, travel and things like that. ,
Manning’s redshirting resolves a potential quarterback fight between him and Quinn Ivers. Texas is set to lead the Evers offense for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Manning will be competing for the job going into his redshirt freshman season.
